Charles Kegg is president of Kegg Pipe Organ Builders in Hartville, Ohio, which is about 50 miles south of Cleveland. He discovered automatic musical instruments at a young age, about 6, on a visit to the Henry Ford Museum. There he was fascinated by a Mills Violano Virtuoso. At age 11 he discovered pipe organs and his life course was set. At age 18 he discovered his first pipe organ player which was a Möller Artiste playing a residence theater organ. He bought and restored his first Artiste at age 19. The machine has been a love affair since.

Over the years, Charles grew to know and experience many pipe organ roll player systems, owning many and working on even more. This web site grew out of the encouragement of several influential people in his life, who urged him to write a book about players. Instead of a book, Charles decided this web site would be the more useful form.
